About Me

Hi! I am so excited to have joined the Big Lagoon community as the 4th-8th grade teacher.
A little about me:
I grew up in Orange County, and moved to Humboldt County about 10 years ago. Humboldt is my home. I am so grateful to live in such a beautiful place, that provides amazing learning opportunities. I graduated from HSU with my BA in Elementary Education, and a minor in American Sign Language and Special Populations.
I am passionate about education, learning, and doing everything I can to support the youth in this community. Being a teacher is a privilege. I will always hold on to that sentiment and let it direct my way of teaching. I will strive to ensure that my students will feel comfortable, included, and welcome in my classroom.
I believe communication is the key to success, so please reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or requests for additional support.

Progress Reports, Field Trips and Required Signatures

Hi Parents!
I sent home several papers today that need to be signed and returned by Thursday.
Progress Reports: I sent reports for Math and Language Arts. I would like you to take a look and sign them, regardless of the grades. Most students are doing quite well! I would like you to see how the grades are broken down. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Missing work: I will accept missing assignments until Friday 9/20 for reduced credit.
Redo Work: I have given the students the option to redo assignments that have been turned in on time. If they are unhappy with their grade, they may redo the assignment and turn it in by Friday 9/20 for full credit.
Field trips:
We will be going paddle boarding/kayaking, this Friday, September 20th. I have sent home permission slips that need to be signed and returned in order for your child to participate.
Next week, on Wednesday September 25th, we will be going to visit Loleta School to join them for California Indian day. This permission also needs to signed and returned by Friday, September 20th in order for your child to participate. Please note there is an amended bus route schedule for that day (please see attached sheet on permission slip).
Reminder: Last week I sent home the permission slips for Crafting Up Business. This needs to be signed and returned by Friday as well.
Sorry for all the paperwork, but we'll be having lots of fun!! Please let me know if you have any questions!

I have posted their assignments for the week that are due Monday (if they haven't already completed them). Please check out the homework page on a regular basis. I will post homework assignments there regularly.

Thank you!

Thank you everyone who came to back to school night! It was great to finally meet all of you.
The kids did AMAZINGLY WELL with their fundraiser! So another big thank you to everyone who contributed, either by donating food, time, or buying some nachos and ice cream!
